Yes, there IS a minecraft server here. I’ve actually hosted servers since beta 1.2.
Currently, the server that is available to the public is a Direwolf20 1.7.10 version 1.4.1
If you have the Feed The Beast launcher, available HERE, then you can easily download and install what you need to play on it.
Great job, thats the first part. Now you need the rather fantastic ATG (alternate terrain generation) mod, from HERE. Make sure to get version 0.12.0. To install it, click the “Edit Mod Pack” button on the launcher. A window will pop up that looks like this;
Now click the “Open Folder” button. some sort of browser/finder window should pop up, toss that file you just downloaded into there.
You will also need an additional configuration file, available HERE. This one goes in the atg config directory. To get there, go up on folder from where you currently are (the mods folder), and you should see a folder named “config”. Open that and then open the ‘atg’ folder. This is where you place the config file. make sure that it is a .cfg and not a .cfg.txt
On windows, the type column should say CFG File, and not Text Document.
Now you can start up the game. It will take AGES to load. The server is available at poweredbyredstone.com.
My little plugin widget thing tells me that the server is currently Offline with players. The server status should always be shown in the top right of this site.
